Why we started
Looking for a flat near your office, a safe ladies' hostel near your college or an approved plot on the edge of town usually means dozens of calls, listings that were rented months ago, “owners” who turn out to be brokers and deposits asked for before anyone has seen the place. We think that is fixable.
India has no MLS and no public property register you can simply search, so every good listing comes from a person — an owner, an agent, a builder or a PG operator. CiyaR's job is to make those people easy to verify and easy to reach, and to keep what they publish fresh.
What makes CiyaR different
- Verified listers.Owners and agents verify their identity and the property (tax receipt, electricity bill or sale deed). Agents show their TNRERA agent number; every project shows its RERA registration with a link to the state RERA site.
- Live availability.PGs, hostels and co-living spaces managed on CiyaR show real bed availability, because the operator runs their rent, rooms and mess on the same system.
- Your number stays private.Enquiries, calls and chats go through CiyaR. You decide when to share your phone number.
- Honest data.Rents, prices and neighbourhood scores come from listings on CiyaR and open data such as OpenStreetMap, clearly labelled as indicative. We never scrape other portals — see data sources.
- Privacy by design.Tenant documents sit in an encrypted vault with an access log and are deleted on a schedule, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — see our privacy policy.
City by city
We grow city by city so that coverage is deep rather than thin — every locality with verified listers before we move on.
